
Ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly election Nitish Kumar's government on Tuesday approved 30 key proposals including a plan to employ 1 crore youth in the next five years. The decision can be seen as a strategic move by the ruling NDA Govt to counter the opposition criticism over the unemployment and rising migration rate of Bihar.
Earlier on Sunday the Chief Minister made a similar announcement in his post on the X, where he claimed that more than 8 lakh youth in Bihar were given government jobs between 2005 and 2020 giving a counter attack to the criticism of the opposition.
Nitish announced that a new university is going to be set up in Bihar dedicated to skill development and named after Kapoori Thakur states iconic leader, the JanNayak Kapoori Thakur Skill University. The initiative of this university is going to equip youth with the skills that open new avenues for employment. The government is targeting youth by focusing on increasing jobs and employment opportunities for young people in the states. Nitish Kumar is focussing on accelerating the pace of providing government jobs and employment to the youth of the state.
Nitish Kumar claimed that they had provided Ten Lakhs government jobs to the youth and employment to Ten Lakh people, under the Saat Nischay Programme - Kumar said . The target was later revised to include Twelve Lakh government jobs and 38,00,000 employment opportunities by August 2025 bringing the total goal to Fifty Lakh.
