Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave information about the killing of three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. He took a swipe at the Opposition, stating “that they did not seem happy about it.” When Samajwadi Party chief MP Akhilesh Yadav interrupted him, Amit Shah said, “Apki Pakistan se baat hoti hai kya?” (Do you speak with Pakistan?). He added, “Don’t be upset by the religion of the terrorists.”
His remarks came during a heated debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha. While giving details about Operation Mahadev carried out by Indian forces to eliminate the Pahalgam attack terrorists, Shah informed that:
“In a joint operation—Mahadev—the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police have neutralized three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. In the operation, Suleiman alias Fazal, Afghan, and Zibran—these three terrorists—were killed in a joint operation of the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Suleiman was an A-category commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Afghan was an A-category Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, and Zibran was also an A-category terrorist. All three terrorists who killed our citizens in the Besaran Valley have been eliminated.”
He took a dig at the Opposition in the House and said, “He expected them to be happy after hearing the news of the killing of terrorists, but instead they don't seem to be happy about it.”
Detailing how it was confirmed that the slain terrorists were linked to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Shah said:
“The cartridges from their rifles were examined, which concluded that the three terrorists killed yesterday were the same who had killed 26 civilians on April 22 at Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam. The NIA had already arrested those who gave them shelter. Those who fed them were detained. When the terrorists’ dead bodies reached Srinagar, they were identified as the same people who carried out the terror attack in Pahalgam. The FSL report of the cartridges from the terror attack was already ready yesterday. The rifles of the three terrorists were seized and matched with the FSL reports. The tests were carried out in Chandigarh yesterday, and after that, it was confirmed that the three were the ones who carried out the terror attack.”
