Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat suggested that the world would benefit if all Hindus unite regardless of care region and language. He made the remarks while addressing the Hindu Ekta Sammelan in Pathanamthitta, Kerala.

"The Hindu samaj (community) can flourish only if it is united. All Hindus should be treated as one irrespective of their caste, region, or language. If all Hindus are united, it would benefit the world," he said.

The RSS chief further said that a society's strength is in its unity, adding that a person cannot solely depend on its own strength.

"It is very important for the Hindu samaj to have unity, this will increase its shakti (strength). In a world where a samaj is united, it will flourish or else it will collapse. There is no other way to tell this. History has witnessed this," he added.

The RSS chief's latest remarks come less than a month after he sparked a row with his claim that India achieved "true independence" on the consecration day of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Speaking at an event in Indore, Bhagwat said the consecration day should be celebrated as "Pratishtha Dwadashi", symbolising the establishment of India's sovereignty after centuries of "parachakra" (foreign invasion).

In response to the statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said neither Bhagwat had written the Constitution, nor the RSS brought Ram Lalla.
