The video was shared on Instagram by user @theregoespayal with the caption, "Indians in Berlin showed up!" The gathering appeared to take place near Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, where participants were seen holding placards calling for accountability over the alleged exam irregularities and expressing solidarity with activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike in Delhi.
Several placards visible in the video carried messages such as "Dharmendra Pradhan Must Resign," "Dear Government, 'Seen' mat karo, reply bhi karo," "Democracy demands dialogue," and "I support Sonam Wangchuk." Another sign read, "We stand with Sonam Wangchuk, the students of India."
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is not a registered political party but a student-led satirical collective founded by activist Abhijeet Dipke. The group emerged in response to allegations of paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET examination and has been holding protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for several weeks. Among its key demands is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protests intensified after Delhi Police removed Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site on Saturday. Wangchuk had been observing a hunger strike in support of students raising concerns over alleged examination irregularities. Following the police action, large numbers of protesters gathered in central Delhi and attempted to march towards Parliament.
Authorities have increased security around Jantar Mantar and the Parliament complex, deploying police and paramilitary personnel and setting up barricades along major routes. Protesters have also alleged that internet services at the protest site were disrupted. Officials have not publicly confirmed these claims.
The Union government has not issued a detailed response to the Berlin demonstration. However, the broader debate over examination transparency, student concerns, and the handling of the protests continues to remain a key political issue.
