A woman used her own body to protect her five-year-old child from a vicious Rottweiler attack, and suffered serious injuries in the process, in Russia’s Yekaterinburg.
The harrowing incident, which unfolded on a snowy street, was caught on camera.
In the video, the woman is seen shielding her child lying on the snowy path, while the Rottweiler looms nearby, poised to attack againA
An eyewitness said that the woman sustained severe bites on both arms, with one left broken. The child suffered extreme distress from the attack. The terrifying scene was recorded by a man from his car who also captured the blood-stained snow as the struggle unfolded.
In the comments section of the now-viral video, concerned viewers condemned the lack of control over dangerous dogs.
“My blood boils watching this. Some dogs should be banned. That dog would have eaten the kid alive,” a user said.
Another user called for stricter laws on aggressive dog breeds, saying, “There should be a license for such wild dogs, especially when they’re outside. The owner should be arrested.”
According to the reports that the owner of the Rottweiler initially denied that the dog was hers and admitted only after she was shown the footage from the camera. The prosecutor's office, meanwhile, is conducting an investigation after the attack.
