The 102-year-old was the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 from Delhi in the early hours of 15th of August 1947.
