A shocking case has emerged from Vadodara, Gujarat, where a 40-year-old married woman has accused her father-in-law and her sister-in-law’s husband of repeatedly raping her. According to her First Information Report (FIR), the alleged assaults were carried out with the twisted justification of helping her conceive a child, after her husband’s medical tests revealed a low sperm count.
The woman married in February 2024 and moved into her husband’s home. Within weeks, her in-laws began suggesting she might face problems conceiving. They insisted she undergo fertility treatments, and medical tests later confirmed her husband’s low sperm count. She underwent an IVF procedure, but it failed. When she suggested adopting a child, her in-laws strongly opposed the idea.
In July 2024, while she was asleep, the woman’s father-in-law allegedly entered her room and raped her. She says she tried to resist and screamed, but he slapped her. When she confronted her husband, he allegedly told her to remain silent, claiming he wanted a child at any cost and threatening to leak her intimate photographs if she spoke up.
The situation worsened in December 2024, when her sister-in-law’s husband allegedly began raping her as well. According to the complaint, he assaulted her multiple times over the following months. In June 2025, she became pregnant, but a month later she suffered a miscarriage.
It was only after this loss that she decided to break her silence. In the last week of July 2025, she went to the Navapura police station and filed an FIR. The police have begun an investigation into the serious allegations, which paint a disturbing picture of abuse, coercion, and betrayal within the family.
