More than 200 passengers on board a Singapore-bound Air India flight at the Delhi airport were asked to deboard the aircraft nearly two hours after being seated due to a fault in the air conditioning system. The incident took place on Wednesday night,

As per a PTI report, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft was scheduled to depart at around 11 pm. Without offering an explanation, crew members of flight AI2380 proceeded to deboard the passengers, who were then taken to the airport terminal building.

Air India is yet to issue a statement.

Meanwhile, videos went viral on social media, showing the passengers using in-flight magazines and newspapers to fan themselves.

Tuesday night's incident comes just over three months after an Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Dubai faced a similar issue. A video taken by a female passenger onboard went viral where she complained about being stuck inside the aircraft for five hours without air conditioning.

The airline, however, said that the air conditioning system was functioning normally.

Meanwhile, in May, a similar incident occurred onboard another Air India Express flight enroute from Delhi to Bhubaneswr after the aircraft’s air conditioning allegedly failed mid-air.
