Punjabi singer Gill Manuke has been booked under the Arms Act for allegedly threatening a man at gunpoint during an altercation at a gym in Mohali. The incident took place on July 28 at around 9 pm and was captured on CCTV footage, which shows the singer pulling out a pistol during a dispute over access to gym equipment.
A video of the incident, which has since surfaced, shows the accused brandishing the gun and shouting, even as others present at the gym tried to pacify the situation. The confrontation reportedly escalated when the singer allegedly used the firearm to assert control over who would use the gym machine first. Further inquiries are underway.
Manuke, whose real name is Satwant Singh, and his brother Jaswant Singh were both arrested by Mohali Police. An FIR has been registered at the Sohana Police Station under charges of criminal intimidation and possession of an illegal weapon. A pistol was recovered from the duo at the time of the arrest.
Mohali City-2 DSP Harsimran Singh Bal confirmed that the accused pulled out the gun during a confrontation over the usage of gym equipment. He added that the singer had a license for the weapon, but police are verifying its validity from the issuing authority.
The two were produced before a Mohali court, where a one-day police remand was granted to facilitate further investigation. Officials are currently reviewing the CCTV footage as crucial evidence in the case.
