Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat, best known for his performances in Ghajini, Lagaan, and the television epic Mahabharat, has died at the age of 74 in Mumbai. According to sources, he was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital before his demise. The exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed.

Rawat enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades, working across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. He was widely recognised for portraying the ruthless antagonist Lakshman in the 2005 Tamil blockbuster Ghajini. Following the film's success, he reprised the same role opposite Aamir Khan in the 2008 Hindi remake directed by AR Murugadoss.

His extensive body of work includes films such as Sarfarosh, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Stalin, Veeram, 1: Nenokkadine, Loukyam, Nenu Sailaja, Sarrainodu, Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Aayirathil Iruvar, Market Raja MBBS and Miss Match.
