Over 30,000 appear for police constable exam in Pakistan, sit on stadium ground to write paper

Amid financial crisis and increasing unemployment in Pakistan, a new picture has emerged on social media which shows thousands of candidates sitting on a stadium ground to appear for a written test for recruitment to the constable's post in Islamabad Police.

At least 32,000 candidates were made to sit on the ground for the written test that was conducted at the Sports Complex in Islamabad on Saturday.

According to Islamabad police, more than 30,000 male and female candidates from all over Pakistan took the written examination for the 1,667 vacancies that were advertised for the police constable recruitment process. The police constable's posts have been lying vacant for the last five years.

The huge turnout in Islamabad Police Recruitment has sparked a new debate on the issue of increasing employment in the country. Unemployment in Pakistan has reached its peak. Due to negligible recruitment in government jobs, the number of unemployed is also continuously increasing. Despite this, lakhs of aspirants are trying their luck for the posts lying vacant in the government sector.
