A disturbing incident of alleged ragging has surfaced in Greater Noida, after a video showing a group of female students assaulting another student began circulating widely on social media, triggering outrage and concern over campus safety.

The incident reportedly took place at a private university in the Dadri police station area. In the viral clip, a group of students could be seen confronting a female student, pulling her hair, slapping her, and verbally harassing her while others stood by.

The footage sparked serious questions about discipline and security within the institution.

Following the video’s circulation, the university administration stepped in and formed an internal enquiry committee to investigate the matter. According to officials, the panel will examine the authenticity of the video, identify those involved, and submit a detailed report within the next four to five days. Based on its findings, further action is expected to be taken.

Meanwhile, local police have acknowledged the incident but stated that no formal complaint has been filed so far, either by the university or the victim. ACP Dadri Prashali Gangwar pointed out that the video appeared to be around 10 to 12 days old and said authorities were closely monitoring the situation.

Police officials have indicated that appropriate legal and disciplinary measures will be pursued once the university’s internal investigation report is submitted and the facts are established.

The incident has once again brought the issue of ragging into focus, with several users calling for stricter enforcement of anti-ragging measures and better safeguards for students within educational institutions.
