A five-year-old girl was killed and two others critically injured after a speeding BMW car crashed into a scooter in Noida's Sector 30 on Saturday night, police said. According to police, the incident took place when Gul Mohammad was taking her daughter to a hospital for a medical checkup.

The car involved in the accident has been seized and two students — identified as Yash Sharma and Abhishek Rawat — have been arrested, the Noida Police confirmed.

The injured, identified as Gul Mohammad and his brother-in-law Raja, are currently undergoing treatment and their condition is reported to be critical.

An investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and whether the accused were under the influence or driving rashly at the time of the accident. Police have assured that the accused will face strict legal action.

The incident came just a day after another fatal road accident was reported in Greater Noida's Badalpur area.

On Saturday evening, three young men riding a scooty were hit by an unidentified vehicle near Sadopur canal while they were on their way to Dadri. All three suffered grievous injuries and were rushed to Mohan Swaroop Hospital in Dadri. Two of them — identified as Faizan and Anas — died during treatment, while the third remains in critical condition.

Police have launched a search for the unidentified vehicle involved in the Greater Noida crash and are scanning CCTV footage in the area.
