The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a seventh suspect in connection with November 10 suicide car bombing outside the Red Fort in Delhi, a terror attack that killed several people and injured many others. The latest arrest of Faridabad resident Soyab has helped investigators build a clearer picture of the network that supported and enabled primary bomber Umar Un Nabi.

According to officials, Soyab, from Dhauj, Faridabad, became the seventh accused to be arrested after evidence emerged that he harboured Umar immediately before the blast and provided logistical assistance. NIA teams visited Soyab’s residence along with earlier-arrested accused Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, reconstructing the movements of the suspects. During the visit, investigators found that Muzammil had allegedly stored a grinder and a portable furnace at his house, tools believed to have been used in the fabrication of IED components.

NIA sources say Soyab is a former employee of Al Falah University and was aware of the conspiracy and knowingly harboured Umar Un Nabi.

Soyab will be produced in court today and the NIA is likely to seek custodial interrogation.

In addition to Soyab, NIA has arrested six others in the Delhi blast case and the “white collar" terror module so far:

1. Amir Rashid Ali – Facilitated the purchase of the car used in the suicide bombing; acted as a key co-conspirator.

2. Jasir Bilal Wani @ Danish – Provided technical support including knowledge of drones and rockets; served as a co-conspirator.

3. Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai – Prime accused; believed to be central to planning, coordination, and IED preparation.

4. Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather – Prime accused; suspected of involvement in recruitment and operational logistics.

5. Dr Shaheen Saeed – Prime accused; linked to planning and ideological consolidation within the module.

6. Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay – Prime accused; allegedly offered ideological guidance and strategic support to the attackers.

7. Soyab – Provided logistical support and shelter to the main bomber Umar Un Nabi.

NIA officials also visited the Al Falah University as part of a larger crime-scene reconstruction exercise to verify the movements of the accused and the locations used for planning and assembling explosives.

The agency continues to pursue multiple leads across states, working with local police to identify the remaining members of the module.
