Bengaluru: Tensions erupted in Karnataka yet again, after thirty students in Shivamogga walked out of their classrooms after they were asked to remove the headscarf as per the high court's order. They were reportedly allowed to wear their Hijab in the classroom earlierThe development comes after pre-university and degree colleges in Karnataka have reopened today after they were asked to shut down followed by the students protests over banning Hijab. Additionally, students and authorities of a college in the Vijayapura district of Karnataka locked horns in the morning. Authorities offered an empty room where the students could remove their hijab and enter classrooms. However, students insisted on sitting in the classroom with the hijabMeanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in Bagalkot, Bangalore, Chikkaballapura, Gadag, Shimoga, Tumkur, Mysore, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada.The high court will resume hearing the case later in the day at 2.30 pm.(With Inputs From Agencies)
