INDIA CREATES HISTORY As Chandrayaan 3 Successfully Made Soft Landing On The Moon’s South Pole; Wishes Pour For India & ISRO

In a post on social media site X, ISRO mentioned: “The mission is on schedule. Systems are undergoing regular checks. Smooth sailing is continuing.”

The space agency went on to add that the “mission operations complex (MOX) is buzzed with energy and excitement”.

Speaking on Chandrayaan-3 mission, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that it is an “extremely happy moment for the country”. He added: “I pray to god for its successful landing. The entire country is eagerly waiting for it.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed all the council schools in Uttar Pradesh shall open for one hour on August 23 to enable students to witness Chandrayaan-3’s landing for the first time on the surface of moon’s South Pole.

The government has issued the order regarding the same.

In its latest update on Chandrayaan-3 soft landing, ISRO said the mission is on schedule and systems are undergoing regular checks. It also shared some latest picture of the moon taken by the lander.

For the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, worship started today at Mata Vaishno Devi Cave at Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in Dehradun.

With the highly anticipated landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon scheduled for Wednesday, Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams has expressed her excitement and anticipation for the event.

Williams, renowned for her remarkable contributions to space expeditions, eagerly looks forward to the Pragyaan rover’s exploration of the lunar south pole, which holds great promise for scientific discoveries.

The NASA astronaut with a storied career in space exploration also commended India’s substantial role in shaping the field of space exploration.

Children offered namaz at Islamic Center madrasa in Lucknow and prayed for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, said Lucknow Eidgah Imam scholar Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said Chandrayaan-3 mission is a matter of pride for the entire nation. “With Chandraayan-3 inching closer to reaching the lunar South Pole, we must all stand together and cheer for its successful soft landing,” she said.

Senior scientist Surendra Pal Singh said Chandrayaan-3 will create history not only for India, but also for mankind.

Ganga Aarti performed with tricolour in hands at Parmarth Niketan Ghat in Rishikesh ahead of the landing of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission on August 23.

Pakistan politician Fawad Hussain said Pakistan media should show Chandrayaan moon landing as it is a historic moment for humankind.

The clock is ticking for the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander on moon’s surface. The lander will attempt a soft landing on moon at 6:04 pm with entire country waiting with bated breath along with ISRO to see history being created.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said “We are very hopeful that the journey of Chandrayaan-3 will be completely successful today. We are eagerly waiting for the pictures and videos from the part of the moon where no country has so far managed a softlanding. If the Chandrayaan landing is successful, which we are very hopeful of, we will join the elite league of countries that have managed this feat.”

ISRO is proceeding with the Chandrayaan 3 landing and the Automatic Landing Sequence is set to be initiated as planned at 5:44 PM. This decision has been made after evaluating all parameters two hours ahead of the launch. ISRO officials had earlier said that the moon landing will be delayed if the Lander Module displayed “abnormal” health before its planned decent at 6:04 pm.

Ahead of Chandrayaan 3’s soft landing, Vikram Sarabhai’s daughter and activist Mallika Sarabhai said the Indian moon mission is a step forward for the entire humanity. “I see this as a step forward for the entire humanity because no one has landed on the south side of the moon. It is not about India alone. It is about the human spirit. I think my father was about the human spirit. For my father and my mother, science and art were the language to make life better for people, to bring justice, to bring happiness and dignity,” she said.

The power descent process has been initiated by ISRO, propelling Chandrayaan 3 towards the moon’s surface in the intended trajectory.

The altitude of the Lander Module (LM) will reduce from 7.4 km to 6.8 km, ISRO stated. Moving into the next phase, known as the ‘altitude hold phase’, the altitude of the lander module is now nearly 31 km.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Chandrayaan 3’s historic success and said, “As the world watches Chandrayaan 3 script India’s epoch in space, I express my heartfelt gratitude to ISRO and our scientists for their undeterred efforts to make this mission a historic success. This landmark achievement is not only a testament to the power of Indian genius but it also launches India’s voyage through the Amrit Kaal to emerge as a global leader in the realm of space, as envisioned by PM Narendra Modi Ji.”

Following the “flawless” landing of Chandrayaan 3, ISRO Chief S Somnath said, “We are all very jubilant. We were all very confident about the soft landing. We were very sure about it… We were all comfortable with the speed at which it was traveling. We have learned a lot from past experiences. Chandrayaan’s journey started with Chandrayaan 1 and it’s been a journey of many years. Hard work has paid off,” He further termed the soft landing on the mooon surface as “flawless landing”

'History Made!', UK Space Agency Congratulates ISRO

The UK Space Agency congratulated ISRO for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface and said “History made!”

CJI DY Chandrachud lauded Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on moon’s south pole, making India the first nation to do so. “The success of the lunar mission places India in a select group of nations to have successfully achieved the landing on the lunar surface. It is more significant because India is the only nation to achieve the lunar landing on the south pole of the Moon,” he said.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan quoted lyrics from his song ‘Chaand Taare’ in movie ‘Yes Boss’ (1997) and hailed the historic achievement of Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the moon. “Chaand Taare todh laoon….Saari Duniya par main chhaoon. Aaj india aur ISRO chhaa gaya. Congratulations to all the scientists and engineers…the whole team which has made India so proud. Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon.”

President Droupadi Murmu described the landing of Chandrayaan-3 as a “momentous and once-in-a-lifetime occasion.” She hailed the scientists for making history with the successful lunar landing, which has brought immense pride to India. President Murmu extended her congratulations to ISRO and all those involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission, expressing her hopes for even greater achievements in the future.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called the success of Chandrayaan-3 a “collective success of every Indian.”

“We salute the passion, hard work, and dedication of our scientists, space engineers, researchers, and everyone involved in making this mission a success,” he said.
