Cow vigilantes blocked the Delhi-Agra Highway in Chhata early Friday morning to protest the murder of cow vigilante saint Chandrashekhar alias "Farsa Wale Baba" near Navipur village in the Kosikalan police station area of Mathura. The blockade resulted in long lines of vehicles on the highway, disrupting traffic for several hours.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. Farsa Wale Baba was chasing cow smugglers on a motorcycle when the accused crushed his vehicle, killing him on the spot.
Locals apprehended a Muslim youth at the scene and handed him over to the police, while three other accused managed to escape after the incident. Police teams are searching for them.
As news of the murder spread, a large number of cow vigilantes and local residents gathered at the scene. Within a short time, the number swelled to hundreds. Angered by the murder, they blocked the highway and demanded the arrest of the accused.
The death of Farsa Wale Baba has caused both grief and anger in the area. He was considered a prominent figure in the cow protection movement in Braj. Police and administrative officials have arrived at the scene and are trying to pacify the crowd and bring the situation under control.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident in Kosikalan, Mathura, and directed officials to immediately reach the scene. The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased.
The Chief Minister has clearly stated that the perpetrators involved in the incident should be identified and strict action taken as soon as possible. He also directed that the perpetrators should not be spared under any circumstances.
