A Class 12 student has been detained by Delhi Police in connection with a string of bomb threats sent to dozens of schools. All the threats were later found to be hoaxes.

According to the police, the minor sent the bomb threat emails to atleast 23 schools in the national capital. In each instance, the student cc'ed the emails to other schools apart from his own in a bid to avoid suspicion.

During the investigation, it was found that the student sent the threat mails to avoid taking his school exams. The student is being questioned by South Delhi Police to gather further details.

Delhi schools and colleges have received a spate of similar threats over the past few months, triggering panic and prompting evacuation. However, they were mostly found to be hoaxes.

In October, an explosion outside a CRPF school in northwest Delhi's Rohini sent police into a tizzy. However, no one was hurt in the incident.
