#NewsRail: After being accused for conducting irregularities in the Covaxin deal, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has now been charged for being involved in a scheme to deduct the salaries of his adies while he was a federal deputy, Brazilian website UOL reported on Monday.Evidences cited by the website is the recordings of Bolsonaro’s former sister-in-law, alleged that he was involved in this racket.UOL reported the scheme involved the hiring process of close associates as employees and then receiving a cut of their public salaries back from them.In one recording, Siqueira Valle his former sister-in-law reveals that her brother, André Siqueira, who was also on Bolsonaro’s payroll, was fired for not giving back the agreed amount to the now-president, and faced a lots of problems as he never returned the money back, that had to be returned. Rio de Janeiro (city of Brazil) state prosecutors have formally pressed charges against federal Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the president’s eldest son, over his alleged participation in a similar racket when he was a state lawmaker.The reported submitted by UOL is the first time that the President has been involved in such a sceheme, known locally as ‘Rachadinha’ (in Brazil the illegal and reportedly widespread practice by which politicians demand a slice of their staff’s wages is known as the rachadinha) and also it comes when he is already being criticised for handling of COVID-19 situation in the country and his involvement in conducting irregularities in Covaxin deal.Moreover, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Rosa Weber also on Saturday issued a criminal investigation into Bolsonaro’s response to allegations of potential corruption within his health ministry in the irregularities of conducting Covaxin deal.In response to the further allegations, Bolsonaro’s lawyer has denied all these illegalities.Persistently, the situation gets deteriorated for President Bolsonaro as the country will witness its Presidential elections next year.Former left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is expected to compete against Bolsonaro, but has not confirmed his candidacy, and recent polling shows Lula could be a good chance for defeating Bolsonaro.
