New Delhi witnessed a series of bomb threats on Saturday, targeting Hotel Taj Palace and two branches of Max Hospital. Police and fire department officials rushed to the locations and conducted searches as per bomb threat protocols. Preliminary findings suggest the threats were hoax calls.

At Chanakyapuri’s Hotel Taj Palace, an email was received in the early hours of the morning, warning that “16 bombs have been placed in the hotel” and asking authorities to vacate the premises by 11 am. The email added that “many VVIPs are in the hotel.”

Officials said the email had been sent at 2 am. Notably, the threat was issued from the same ID that had sent a bomb threat to the Delhi High Court yesterday. “After the Delhi High Court bomb threat, Hotel Taj Palace received a bomb threat this morning via an email,” police confirmed.

Police teams, along with the bomb squad, thoroughly searched the entire hotel. “Searches were conducted as per bomb threat protocols and preliminary information suggests it was a hoax call,” officials said. Nothing suspicious was found on the premises.

Around the same time, Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh also received a bomb threat. “Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Service on the spot, search operation underway,” the Delhi Fire Service said. Later in the day, Max Hospital in Dwarka received a similar threat. “The fire department received this call at 16:47, police and fire department team are on the spot,” the Delhi Fire Service said.

The Delhi Police Cyber Cell is now probing the chain of threat emails received over the last two days.
