At least 276 Covid-19 cases were reported in India during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active Covid-19 cases to 4,302, with Kerala accounting for the highest number of infections at 1,373. Maharashtra has logged 510 cases, Gujarat 461 and West Bengal 432.

The national capital has recorded at least 457 Covid-19 infections. A total of 44 Covid-related deaths have been reported in the country so far, the highest being in Maharashtra with 14 fatalities.

At least seven deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, with Maharashtra accounting for four of them. Gujarat and Delhi also reported one Covid-related death in this time period.

Five deaths have been reported in Delhi, while Kerala logged 9 fatalities. Four deaths were reported each in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. So far, Arunachal Pradesh remains the only state which has not reported a single Covid-19 case so far.

Here’s The Latest On Covid-19 Cases

  • West Bengal reported over 60 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, official data showed, taking its tally of active cases to 432. During the same period, 28 people recovered from the disease, it said.

  • Uttar Pradesh recorded 63 new cases, while Delhi and Gujarat reported 64 new cases each in the same time period. Uttar Pradesh currently has 201 active Covid-19 cases.

  • Maharashtra has recorded 14 deaths so far, most of them being patients suffering from co-morbidity. The state recorded 16 new infections.

  • Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in Kerala, the state health department has issued guidelines for hospitals and healthcare workers. It has also instructed both government and private hospitals to carry out mock drills.

  • A guideline has been issued for hospital facilities to emphasise monitoring red flag signs such as breathlessness, chest pain, drowsiness, low blood pressure, hemoptysis, and cyanosis in adults. In children, symptoms like somnolence, high persistent fever, feeding difficulties, convulsions, and respiratory distress warrant attention.
