The police have said that the suspect, wearing a black balaclava, fled the spot in a silver vehicle and is on the run. There were no other immediate details of the gunman.

Meanwhile, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said that a police investigation is currently underway, while "all necessary resources have been deployed" to track the suspect.

"I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough. I have spoken to Chief Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed. This is an early and ongoing investigation, police will provide further details," she tweeted.

Around the same time, a Toronto Fire Services spokesperson told CP24 News that they were also called to a second location, but did not find anything.
