US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir on Friday, urging both Islamabad and New Delhi to take immediate steps to de-escalate rising military tensions, according to a spokesperson from the US Department of State.

Rubio also conveyed Washington’s willingness to facilitate constructive dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours to prevent further escalation and avoid future conflict.
