

At least two people were killed and six others injured after a shooting at a street festival in Toronto, Canada, prompting a major police response as authorities searched for the suspect, according to BBC.
Toronto Police said they received reports of an active shooter on St Clair Avenue at around 8:12 pm local time. Officers arriving at the scene found six people suffering from gunshot wounds, while two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, or suspects, fled before police arrived and remain at large. Investigators have secured the area and urged residents to avoid the neighbourhood as a heavy police presence continues and the investigation remains underway.
The shooting occurred during the annual Salsa on St Clair Latin Festival, a popular community event celebrating Latin culture with live music, dance performances and local food. The 22nd edition of the festival was being held on St Clair Avenue, a busy midtown Toronto street lined with shops and restaurants.
