
Multiple casualties are feared after a shooting incident was reported at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, the US state of Minnesota, local media reports said, quoting Governor Tim Walz.
"I've been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information. The BCA and State Patrol are on scene," Governor Tim Walz tweeted.
"I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence," he added.
It was school drop off time when the shooting happened, in which multiple victims are feared, ABC reported.
Quoting city officials, it also said that the shooter is "contained" and there's "no active threat to the community".
Children from pre-kindergarten to Class 8 study at the school.
Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement that the Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the situation.
"I am praying for the victims of this heinous attack and their families," she added.
