US authorities were urgently searching for four senior citizens of Indian origin who have gone missing. The family members are Asha Divan, Kishore Divan, Shailesh Divan, and Gita Divan. They were on a road trip traveling from Buffalo, New York and were heading towards Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when they suddenly disappeared.
US authorities confirmed the death of four Indian-origin family members who went missing during a road trip. Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty confirmed that the family was found dead on Saturday night. They left their house to visit a temple.
Their last known sighting was on Tuesday, July 29th, around 2:45 PM. They were seen at a Burger King restaurant located on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. Soon after, their car was picked up by a special camera that reads license plates. This camera is used by a Pennsylvania State Trooper showing their vehicle driving south on Interstate 79 (I-79). The family was actually on their way to a place called Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold which is on McCreary’s Ridge Road in Marshall County, West Virginia.
The car they were driving is a 2009 lime green Toyota Camry. It has a New York license plate with the number EKW2611. This specific detail is very important for the search efforts.
Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty spoke to a local TV station in Ohio. He mentioned that no one has heard from the Divan family since July 31, 2025. This means they have been out of contact for several days. Sheriff Dougherty stated, "We have a few leads, which we and surrounding law enforcement agencies are investigating, but have not yet located the missing persons." This shows that police are actively working on the case and following up on any clues they find.
Police officers from both Marshall County and Ohio County in West Virginia have been searching the roads nearby. To help with the search, especially from above, officials have decided that helicopters will join the operation starting on Sunday. This will allow them to cover a much larger area from the air. The Marshall County Sheriff’s department has also asked the public for help. They have posted information and pictures of the missing family members on their Facebook page. Anyone who knows where the Divan family might be is asked to contact the authorities right away.
