Several loud explosions were heard over Dubai and Qatar’s capital Doha for a second consecutive day on Sunday, witnesses said, as Iran expanded retaliatory strikes across the Gulf following US and Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic.
Residents in both cities reported multiple blasts in the night sky, with air defence systems believed to have been activated amid fears that Iranian missiles were targeting facilities linked to the United States and its regional allies.
Iran has previously warned it would strike US military installations across West Asia in response to the coordinated US-Israel operation that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
