
The social media influencer and Bigg Boss 16 fame Abdu Rozik, detained at Dubai International Airport on Saturday, after authorities received information of alleged theft. Following reports of his arrest his management team clarified that the singer was only detained and has been released after. “He was not arrested”, they clarified he was only detained by the police Abdu Rozik gave his explanation after the release.
“Today he will participate in an award night in Dubai,” said a statement from the S-line project, the agency who is managing Abdu Rozik, to the Khaleej Times. The statement added “Information which is circulated over the social media is not correct, we will take all the legal action to protect his image. Also, we will provide you with all the information later for the Indian fans of Abdu Rozik." They further added, "believe us, we have a lot to say regarding the issue of Abdu Rozik and his image."
He was detained by authorities around 5:00 AM over the weekend, shortly after landing in Dubai from Montenegro. The exact nature of the campaign remains undisclosed, as officials have yet to release an official statement. “All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft,” a company representative told Khaleej Times.
Soon after times of his retention surfaced Abdu Rozik, took to the Instagram Stories to share an update and later posted videos from the award ceremony confirming his presence at the event
Abdu Rozik, a singer from Tajikistan, rose to fame through his viral music videos and appearances on Indian reality shows like Bigg Boss. He has released several hit tracks and gained widespread popularity. In 2022, he performed at the 22nd IIFA Awards, where he charmed the audience with his rendition of the classic Hindi song "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga" from the 1994 film 1942: A Love Story.
In 2024 he was also questioned by India's Enforcement Directorate as part of a money laundering investigation related to a hospitality firm although he wasn't named as an accused individual, as reported by Khaleej Times.
