Samay Raina Still Alive: Samay Raina has reportedly achieved a major milestone with his comedy special Still Alive, which is now being called the most-watched YouTube comedy special worldwide. The claim has gained attention after the comedian himself shared a screenshot of an AI response confirming the record.

On April 21, Samay posted an interaction with Grok AI on Instagram Stories. He had asked, “Which is the most watched YouTube comedy special of all time globally?" The chatbot responded, “Samay Raina – Still Alive is the most watched YouTube comedy special of all time globally (full-length stand-up special by total views on its primary upload)."

Massive numbers within weeks of release

The special, uploaded on April 7, has seen rapid growth in views. As of April 22, it has reached 53.78 million views on YouTube. The video has crossed 3.8 million likes and received over two lakh comments.

A comeback after controversy

The release also marks Samay’s return to YouTube after months of controversy linked to India’s Got Latent. The issue had triggered nationwide backlash. The situation escalated when podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question, leading to multiple FIRs being filed.

Opening up on how he healed himself after the scandal, Samay Raina said, “I am like this today because of that. I was like a dead body. I have videos from that time when I am just like, I was just zoned out. I am just looking around. Just depersonalized, detached from the world. Just looking at people smiling and feeling like s**t. Bajraj used to try to take me out. He would say chalna yaar, chal. Main kaha, nahi yaar, I just wanna be here. Beech mein toh inke paas Canada visa nahi tha. Those 10 days I have been so lonely because he was with me in US and he didn’t have Canada visa. Toh 10 days, 10 shows and it was minus 27 degrees Celsius bahar. We were in Edmonton, Calgary and I was dead at that time. I was just crying all the time. I was just f****ng demotivated. Kamre mein leta pada rehta tha."

In Still Alive, Samay directly addressed this phase. In the one-hour 21-minute special, he spoke about the controversy, shared how his parents reacted and discussed the impact on his mental health. He revealed that the special was born directly out of that pain. Samay began writing during the peak of the controversy, testing fragments as surprise sets at Habitat Comedy Club, owned by his close friend Balraj Ghai. Over time, those pieces evolved into a full-fledged set that he later took on tour.
