Disha Vakani aka Dayaben in India’s popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been missing from the show for about 6 years now. This happened due to the indefinite maternity leave taken by her in the year 2017 and since then, she hasn’t returned back to the show. As a result, the show has been running without the popular character of Dayaben. However there is a great news for the fans of TMKOC given by the producer of the show, Asit Modi.
On the occasion of 15 years of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi made a big announcement by saying that he would soon be bringing back fan’s favorite Disha Vakani aka Dayaben. He said, “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist is Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah."
Disha Vakani’s re-entry as Dayaben in the show can give this show a real boost, as the ratings of the show are going down day-by day due to many reasons such as, actors leaving the show, the allegations on show’s producer and many more things. Dayaben (the character’s) entry can be a big lifeline for the show.
By sharing his experiences on the questions related to Disha Vakani he said, “I am also tired of answering and requesting people not to ask this question. But I am the producer of the show and therefore I’ll have to answer. Even today I wish that our original Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani comes back. Disha is like my sister. She wants to spend time with her family. She has two kids. If she does not want to come back, I cannot force her."
But now, it will be interesting to see that how Disha’s comeback will impact the show in the coming time.
