The makers of Bigg Boss have stepped up Salman Khan’s security amid the continuous threats the actor has been getting. Recently, Rishi Negi, the man behind the show, talked about the security measures on the sets, especially in light of the death threats against Salman Khan. Rishi mentioned that they have taken several precautionary measures and now, no live audience is allowed on sets.
“We have close to 600 people in our workforce. There are 3 shifts, and we work 24X7. There is fair representation of women in the workforce. When it comes to content security and on-ground logistics, we are absolutely uncompromising — both are top priorities," he told SCREEN.
“In the last two and a half years, we have beefed up security because of threats to Salman Khan. We don’t get live audiences on the show now when Salman Khan is there. Also, there is a very strict protocol about the people who come on the show. For everyone we hire, whether on a permanent basis, temporary, or vendor basis, we do a strict background check on them, " the Endemol Shine India CEO added.
In April 2024, gunshots were fired outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Later, it was reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is alleged to be behind the attack as the gangster’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting incident via a Facebook post.
After the shocking incident, Salman’s security was upgraded. In October 2024, the actor also acquired a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV worth approximately Rs 2 crore, imported directly from Dubai to Mumbai. Besides this, Khan also covered the balcony of his Mumbai residence with bulletproof glass.
