The first promotional video for 'Arasan', directed by Vetri Maaran and featuring Silambarasan TR, has been released. The five-minute promo offers a glimpse into the gritty world built on the foundation of the 2018 film 'Vada Chennai'. Silambarasan appears in a dual role, both as a young man with a distinct style and as an older man with greying hair, highlighting different phases of the character's life.

The promo follows the older version of Silambarasan's character as he faces trial in court, accused of three murders. In a notable scene, the character converses with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar, who appears as himself. Silambarasan's character asks Nelson to make a movie based on his life and requests Dhanush be cast in the lead role, blurring the lines between fiction and reality.

The promo concludes with the line, "An untold tale from the world of Vada Chennai," underscoring the film's connection to Vetri Maaran's earlier work and hinting at a deeper exploration of the universe and its characters.

Music for 'Arasan' is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with Vetri Maaran. The director, previously known for working with Santhosh Narayanan and GV Prakash, takes a new approach with Anirudh. The theme track, released on Anirudh's birthday (October 16), has already drawn attention for its distinct sound.

Silambarasan TR expressed his admiration for Anirudh's music on X, sharing birthday wishes and highlighting the composer's contribution. The film is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the V Creations banner, bringing together a well-known team in Tamil cinema.

'Arasan' marks the first direct collaboration between Vetri Maaran and Silambarasan TR. Notably, Silambarasan was originally considered for the lead in 'Vada Chennai', a part that eventually went to Dhanush, who played a carrom player rising to become a leader within his fishing community.
