The makers of Alpha have released the film's official trailer, offering a closer look at the upcoming action thriller and its central conflict. Starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, the film is the latest entry in the YRF Spy Universe.
The trailer introduces Alia Bhatt's character, Sita, who is shown being raised and trained by Bobby Deol's character, Fateh, from a young age. As the story unfolds, Sita turns against her mentor, whom she describes as a "demon," setting up a confrontation between the two characters.
Drawing inspiration from the Ramayana, the trailer presents Sita as a protagonist who chooses to fight her own battle rather than wait to be rescued. The footage features several action sequences, with Alia appearing in a physically demanding role.
Sharvari, whose limited screen time in the film's teaser had sparked discussion among fans, receives a more prominent presence in the trailer. Her character joins Sita on a mission that appears central to the film's plot. Anil Kapoor is also seen playing a guiding role for the two agents.
The trailer suggests that Fateh is a former spy who has turned against the country. In one scene, he declares that India failed to value "Alpha" and will now fear it, hinting at his motivations and larger plans.
One of the trailer's biggest talking points is the tease of a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, a character from War and War 2. Although only a brief glimpse is shown, the appearance connects Alpha more closely to the wider YRF Spy Universe.
Ahead of the trailer launch, Alia Bhatt appeared to address fan concerns regarding Sharvari's absence from the teaser by sharing social media posts highlighting her co-star's involvement in the film.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha is based on a screenplay by Soumil Shukla and Shridhar Raghavan, with a story by Uday Chopra. The film joins a franchise that includes Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.
Alpha is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 3.
