She said that her subscription platform is meant for creative and artistic content, not explicit material. Before entering cinema, Abhirami Venkatachalam began her career as a model and gained recognition after winning the Miss Tamil Nadu 2017 title. She also appeared in the web series Ctrl Alt Delete and hosted the television show Star Wars on Sun TV.
She appeared in NOTA, marking her debut in the Tamil film industry. She later appeared in Kalavu. A significant milestone in her career came with Nerkonda Paarvai, where she starred alongside Ajith Kumar.
Directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film was a Tamil remake of the Hindi hit Pink. Abhirami portrayed Famitha Banu, one of three women seeking justice in a courtroom drama. Her performance, especially in emotional scenes, received praise from critics and audiences alike.
In addition to films, Abhirami gained popularity through her participation in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3. She later appeared in Bigg Boss Ultimate Season 1, where she finished as the fifth runner-up. Thanking genuine supporters, she made it clear that anyone expecting nudity or inappropriate content should feel free to unsubscribe. She firmly stated that she would not allow others to dictate what she posts and wrote that her platform is not meant for adult content.
Abhirami’s response hinted a larger issue faced by many artists navigating subscription-based platforms. While such platforms offer creators financial independence and creative freedom, they also expose them to unrealistic and often inappropriate expectations.
She encouraged followers who appreciate her work aesthetically to continue engaging with her content, while discouraging those who fail to understand the purpose of her page. Abhirami’s Instagram subscription, priced at Rs 399 per month, has attracted around 700 subscribers.
