NEW DELHI: Ramjas International School, R. K. Puram, under the banner of the Ramjas Foundation and drawing inspiration from the ideals of the Founder, Sh Rai Kedarnath Ji, has been providing affordable quality education to the masses since 1974.

The school recognises the impact of sports for inculcating 21st Century Skills of Communication, Cooperation, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Team Spirit among the youth. It was from the grounds of Ramjas International School that the ace Indian Shooter Col. (Retd) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore announced “Khelo India” an initiative by the Government of India in the year 2018.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Siddarth Choudhary as the Chief Guest. Mr. Choudhary, a certified Marathon Trainer is the Founder Director of Gurgaon Road Runners, one of the largest fitness groups in the country. He has to his credit the achievement of running 1480 km from Delhi to Mumbai in 18 days. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Sunita Godara, Asian Marathon Champion 1992, holds a Doctorate in Sports and Fitness from Banasthali They were joined by Sh. Devesh Gupta, Vice Chairman, Ramjas Foundation.

The programme began with a Sholka Recital by the School Choir followed by the launch of the New School Anthem tracing the glorious journey of the school.

The Chief Guest in his address to the gathering stressed on the importance of physical fitness with focus on long distance running. Sh. Devesh Gupta in his address highlighted the commitment of the Foundation towards the holistic development of all students. He applauded Ramjas International School for paying special attention to Sports as a Global Life Skill. Before the flag off, warm up exercises were conducted by the Sports Department. The Run was then flagged off by the Guests amidst great cheering and enthusiasm.

Mrs. Rachna Pant, Director, Ramjas International School, greeted all the participants after the successful completion of the Run. She congratulated each one present on the momentous occasion. Ms. Pant took pride in the 50 Glorious Years of the school and expressed her desire to see the school flourishing and reaching the highest echelons of success. This was followed with the distribution of certificates to the participating students and E- Certificates to the Alumni.

Stressing on striking a healthy balance between Academics and Extra Curricular Activities Dr. Sunita Godara talked of health and fitness as a pre requisite to achieving success in life. The Run culminated with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Richa Sharma, Principal. She thanked all the distinguished guests, Alumni, parents, students and Staff members for being a part of the Glorious Occasion.
