India’s Top Educators Received Prestigious Marichi Award by Indirapuram Education Network in New Delhi

Former HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal recognized 20 educators from diverse fields and 11 states for their transformative work in education.

New Delhi: Former HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal awarded 20 Educators of the country at the first prestigious Marichi awards for educators by Indirapuram Education Network (under the aegis of Tapindu Educational Society) in New Delhi on Saturday, 16 December.

These educators ranged from the tea plantations of Assam to the rural hinterlands of Odisha, from the conflict- ravaged areas of Chattisgarh to the community school in Arunachal Pradesh. Representing 11 states of India, and 12 diverse fields, Indirapuram Education Network united and recognised their hard work at the Marichi Awards 2023.

Talking to Jaano Junction, Shalini Singh, President of Tapindu Educational Society said that, “Marichi, the deity of dawn and light in Buddhism, birthed the theme of the event and led to the discovery of the twenty awardees spread across eleven states who have transformed their communities through grit, ingenuity and creativity.”

The event was graced by Chief Guest, former HRD minister Honourable Ramesh Pokhriyal. The guests of honour were CAIE Regional Manager (North India) Inderpal Singh, former Lok Sabha MP Sm. Meena Singh and Major General Sanjay Singh, AVSM, SM and Bar, VSM (Retired).

During an interaction with Jaano Junction, Rita Singh, CEO of Indirapuram Education network told us, “Our educational Group believes in building a community of people who work for progressive change in education. Amit Prakash (STEM materials for the visually impaired), Anurag Chauhan (busting myths around menstruation), Arabinda Swain (Headmaster of Gram Vikas Shiksha), Dr. Arjun Trivedi (Karunar Kheti trust and Selenghat Valley School in Assam), Arti Qanungo (National Awardee, curriculum designer of climate action project), Ashish Srivastava (Founder of Shiksharth-education children in conflict zones), Dushyanth Gunashekar (Crea-Shakthi, a leading theatre in Education initiative), Lobsang Phuntsok (Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh), Mamoon Akhtar (Samaritan Help Mission. Educating slum children), Manju Arif (leader in inclusive education), Mona Shipley (Shipley Foundation For Social Impact. developed Physical Education Cards), Paramjeet Kaur Dhillon (Champion of SDGs.), Radha KR (Gubbachi Learning Community. Outstanding leadership in rural education), Rohit Dhankar (Digantar Shiksha Evam KhelKud Samity -has built unique curriculum for children based on equity, freedom and democracy), ShivKumar Menon (Leader of the Civic Learning Programme at Janagraha), Vikram Rajola (Cofounder of Indeed foundation), Vinesh Menon (CEO of Ampersand Group - drives impactful outcomes in the government sector through education and skilling), Swati Popat Vats (CEO, Poddar Education Network, President Early childhood Association, framer of unique curriculum of Early Childhood Care and Education), Sudha Acharya (Principal, ITL Public School , Dwarka, champion of inclusive education), Haneet Gandhi (Professor, Department of Education Deputy Dean, Admission Branch, Delhi university).

Indirapuram Education Network (under the aegis of Tapindu Educational Society) runs 6 Schools: Radiant International School and Indirapuram Public School Girls in Patna, Indirapuram Public School in Indirapuram, Crossing Republik, Pratap Vihar (Delhi NCR) and Ayodhya.
