In a proud moment for Bihar's entrepreneurial landscape, three remarkable startups—EY Delta, Lady Fair, and Bhojpatta—were conferred with the Maharathi Award at the prestigious Startup Mahakumbh held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Each of these ventures received a cash prize of ₹1 lakh for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields—technology, beauty and wellness, and sustainable agriculture.
The recognition marks a significant milestone for Bihar’s growing startup ecosystem, showcasing the state’s potential in innovation and social impact. The awards were given under different verticals and reflect the diversity and depth of ideas being developed by young entrepreneurs from the state.
Patna-based EY Delta is redefining the future of defense and space technology with its next-generation electric motor innovations. The startup has been recognized for its advancements in magnetic field optimization, advanced thermal management, and modular motor design. These motors are energy-efficient and designed for high-performance applications such as drones, robotics, and electric vehicles.

The startup has already created 11 full-time jobs and secured an order of 15,000 motors valued at ₹3.5 crore. It is now setting up a dedicated production line with a monthly capacity of 5,000 motors, actively contributing to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Founded in 2019 by Rishi Ranjan Kumar from a small village in Sitamarhi, Lady Fair Beauty Concepts Pvt. Ltd. is revolutionizing access to salon services in rural Bihar while creating job opportunities for women. The company provides doorstep salon services and has trained over 150 women, many of whom are now working across 12+ cities.
With a turnover reaching ₹36 crore in FY 2024–25, Lady Fair is not just a beauty brand—it's a movement for digital inclusion and women's empowerment. Starting from a single rented room, the brand is now a national D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) awardee with a rapidly growing footprint.
Bhojpatta Agripreneur Pvt. Ltd., founded in 2021, is an agriculture-based startup focused on zero-carbon solar dryers and sustainable product design. Using prism technology and natural fibers, Bhojpatta transforms post-harvest residue and agricultural waste into useful items like air filters, reducing environmental impact and economic loss for farmers.
With a turnover of ₹89 lakh in FY 2024–25, Bhojpatta is creating 14 jobs and utilizing up to 74 million tons of agricultural waste annually. The startup has previously received national recognition at Organic India 2022 and support from IIT Kanpur’s SIL 3.0 and SELCO Foundation.
This trio of startups exemplifies how innovation, purpose, and entrepreneurship can create tangible change—right from the heart of Bihar. Their recognition at Startup Mahakumbh not only uplifts their individual journeys but also strengthens Bihar’s reputation as an emerging powerhouse of ideas and impact.
