Got bank work pending? You might want to deal with it before September 28.
A nationwide bank strike is scheduled for September 28, 29 and 30, which means regular banking services at branches could be disrupted across the country.
And there’s a small calendar plot twist: September 26 and 27 are Saturday and Sunday.
That means customers could potentially face a stretch of several days when branch-based banking isn't operating normally.
The State Bank of India has issued an advisory asking customers to plan their transactions accordingly and complete important branch-related work in advance.
Nope. Your bank branch might be affected, but digital banking isn't disappearing.
According to SBI's advisory, several services are expected to remain available during the strike, including:
ATMs
Automated Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs)
Customer Service Points (CSPs)
YONO
Internet banking
Mobile banking
UPI
So yes, you should still be able to send money, make UPI payments, access digital banking and withdraw cash through available ATMs.
Basically, the branch may be offline, but your phone is still doing overtime.
The bigger headache is for anything that requires a physical bank branch or staff assistance.
Need to submit documents? Visit the counter? Handle a transaction that cannot be completed digitally?
Don't leave it for September 28.
SBI has advised customers to complete essential branch-dependent transactions before the strike begins
The takeaway?
Branch work → Do it early.
UPI → Expected to work.
Internet/mobile banking → Expected to remain available.
ATM → Expected to remain available.
So before the three-day strike kicks in, check your banking to-do list.
Because discovering that you needed a branch service after the shutters are down is exactly the kind of plot twist nobody ordered.
