The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched the Special Summary Revision (SIR) in Bihar ahead of the 2025 elections — a large-scale voter list verification and clean-up exercise. Under this scheme, the ECI is updating electoral rolls by identifying deceased voters, those who have permanently migrated, and duplicate or untraceable entries.
