Watch: Virat Kohli asks security to be gentle with pitch invader, video goes viral

JJ News Desk

Virat Kohli is winning hearts on social media after the RCB star was seen asking the security to be gentle while dealing with the pitch invader in Jaipur during the clash against RR on April 6, Saturday. The young fan, who was sporting a RCB jersey with Kohli's name and number on it, was able to jump over the barricade and make his way to the field. This wasn't the first instance of a pitch invasion involving Kohli this season, as a fan had come to the field at the Chinnaswamy stadium during the RCB vs PBKS match.

Fans had then claimed via social media that the security were harsh in their treatment of the pitch invader as a video showed that he was manhandled by the officials. Probably in a bid to prevent a repeat of the incident, Kohli went on to ask the security to be gentle with the youngster. Kohli was seen on the video, saying 'aaram se', meaning to be 'careful' with him. The video has now gone viral as the RCB star's plea to the security has now won hearts.

This was the third time Kohli has been at the centre of such an incident, as a fan had invaded the pitch during India's second T20I against Afghanistan earlier in the year. This was the match where Kohli made his return to T20Is for India.

Kohli has been in tremendous form for RCB this year as he currently leads the Orange Cap standings. The India star has scored 316 runs so far in 5 matches, with a strike-rate of over 146 and an average of 105.33.

Kohli scored a hundred in the match against RR, but it wasn't enough to prevent RCB from suffering their 4th loss in 5 matches. RCB currently sit in 9th spot on the IPL 2024 points table and will face MI next at the Wankhede stadium on April 11.
