Watch: Rishabh Pant turns babysitter again for DC, video goes viral

Harsh Raj

Rishabh Pant has taken up 'babysitting' duties once again, but this time for his IPL team DC. Pant was seen interacting David Warner's daughters and head coach Ricky Ponting's son in a video released by DC on April 19. The famous chant of Pant was heard in the background of the video as it went viral on social media.

The video showed Pant to be in a jovial mood as he talked with the kids and interacted with them. It showed that the Indian wicketkeeper was certainly enjoying his time back in the IPL. You can see the full video below:

Pant famously got the tag of babysitter during India's tour of Australia back in 2018 from then-Aussies captain Tim Paine who was trying to troll Pant. Paine was asking Pant at the time if he wanted to babysit his kids as he wouldn't be in the ODI team as MS Dhoni had returned.

"Tell you what big MS is back in the one day squad. Should get this bloke down to Hurricanes.. They need a batter.

"Fancy that extend you Aussie holiday, beautiful town Hobart too... get him a water front apartment"

"Have him over for dinner."

"Do you babysit? I can take my wife to the movies while you watch the kids."

Pant would take it in his stride and hit back at Paine with the 'temporary captain' remark as well.

In the IPL 2024 season, Pant made a remarkable comeback to competitive cricket after a 453-day hiatus due to a severe car accident. Despite the challenges of recovering from multiple injuries, including a damaged ligament in his right knee, Pant's return was eagerly anticipated.

He started the season with modest scores but quickly found his rhythm, showcasing his prowess and leadership on the field. Pant hit his stride with a vintage half-century against Chennai Super Kings, scoring 52 off 31 balls, marking his first fifty in the tournament since his return. This performance was part of a crucial victory for the Capitals, underlining Pant's importance to the team. Throughout the season, he continued to contribute significantly, amassing 210 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 156.71, including two half-centuries.

Pant would also get the Player Of The Match award in the win over GT for his captaincy and wicketkeeping skills. DC will face SRH next on April 20, Saturday.
