India captain Shubman Gill has returned to the top of the ICC Men's ODI batting rankings, reclaiming the No. 1 position in the latest rankings released on Wednesday. The 26-year-old overtook New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell to become the world's highest-ranked ODI batter once again. 

Gill's rise comes after a string of consistent performances in the ODI format, taking his rating to 801 points. The latest rankings also underline India's dominance in white-ball cricket, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remaining among the top-ranked ODI batters. 

The rankings update also brought major recognition for 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who climbed an astonishing 230 places in the ICC Men's T20I batting rankings. The youngster has reached a career-best 48th position after an impressive series against Zimbabwe. 

Sooryavanshi was named Player of the Series after scoring 151 runs in three T20Is during India's 3-0 series sweep of Zimbabwe. His performances included two half-centuries and further strengthened his reputation as one of India's brightest young cricketing prospects. 

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan continues to occupy the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men's T20I batting rankings, making India the only nation to have the world's top-ranked batters in both ODI and T20I formats. 

The latest ICC rankings reflect India's growing depth in international cricket, with experienced stars maintaining their dominance while emerging talents like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continue to make rapid strides on the global stage.
