Jasprit Bumrah Becomes 4th Cricketer To Play 150 Matches For Mumbai Indians

The ongoing IPL 2026 match against DC in Delhi is Bumrah's 150th T20 match for MI. Apart from playing 147 IPL matches for MI, Bumrah has played 3 CLT20 matches for them.

Mumbai Indians are taking on Delhi Capitals in their second IPL 2026 match on Saturday, April 4. The fixture taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is a special one for star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, as this game is his 150th T20 match for the Mumbai Indians. The 32-year-old fast bowler from Ahmedabad, who made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians on April 4, 2013, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, is the fourth cricketer to play 150 T20 matches for Mumbai Indians.

Apart from playing 147 IPL matches for the Mumbai-based franchise, Bumrah has also made three appearances in the Champions League T20 for them.

Jasprit Bumrah’s record for Mumbai Indians

The overall record of playing most matches for the Mumbai Indians is in the name of Rohit Sharma. The former India captain is playing his 238th T20 match for MI on Saturday in Delhi. He is followed by Kieron Pollard, who made 211 appearances (189 in IPL and 22 in Champions League T20), and Harbhajan Singh (158 matches) is also ahead of Bumrah.

Most matches for Mumbai Indians

Prior to the start of the ongoing match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Bumrah had picked up 186 wickets for the Mumbai Indians. He has 183 wickets to his name in the IPL and three in the Champions League T20. Bumrah is MI‘s highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League, and overall in T20s, he is only behind Lasith Malinga. Malinga played 139 T20 matches for MI from 2009 to 2019 and dismissed 195 batters. He accounted for the dismissal of 170 batters in 122 IPL matches and picked up 25 wickets in 17 Champions League T20 fixtures.

The world record of playing most matches for one IPL team in T20s is in the name of Virat Kohli. Since making his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2008, Kohli has played 283 matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise. He has played 268 matches in the IPL for them and 15 in the Champions League T20.
