India have suffered yet another injury setback in their ongoing Test series against England, with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of the final two matches of the five-Test series due to a left knee injury. The 21-year-old will return home for rehabilitation, the BCCI confirmed on Monday.

Adding to India's concerns, uncapped left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test in Manchester after sustaining an impact injury to his left thumb during a training session in Beckenham. "The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress," the board said in its release.

With Reddy ruled out, Shardul Thakur - who featured in the series opener in Leeds - could return to the playing XI if India opt to persist with a seam-bowling all-rounder.
