The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially boycotted the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka. With this move, the future of the Asia Cup 2025 hangs in the balance. As per several media reports, BCCI officials have informed both the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board about their absence from the meeting..

The ongoing diplomatic turmoil between India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan is suspected to be the main reason behind this boycott. BCCI had requested the ACC and Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to change the venue of the Asia Cup 2025 meeting. However, there has been no response so far, according to sources.

The meeting is scheduled for late July 2025, to finalise logistics for the tournament. But with the diplomatic tension at an all-time low between these nations, India might pull out of the tournament altogether. Although India was agreed upon as the original host, the entire tournament is now set to be held in the UAE, as Pakistan is not willing to travel to India. Now, with India boycotting the meeting, all signs are pointing toward a potential withdrawal from the tournament itself.

If India pulls out of the tournament then it is unlikely that the Asia Cup will move ahead. India's absence will affect the marketing side and will significantly lead to a drop in the revenue.
