Tech titan Elon Musk will now be known as "Kekius Maximus" on X, and he has also replaced his profile picture with the popular "Pepe the Frog" meme. Musk's profile image shows Pepe dressed as a warrior and holding a video game joystick.
Musk, known for his quirky antics and posts on X, did not give any reason behind the sudden name change. However, he has recently been posting on the meme coin Kekius Maximus, which has attracted attention from investors in the cryptocurrency market.
After Musk changed his name on X, the memecoin Kekius Maximus (KEKIUS) skyrocketed over 500% in just a few hours, according to CoinGecko data.
Meme coins are cryptocurrencies that are inspired by internet memes or trends. A couple of years ago, Musk made the Shiba Inu-inspired Dogecoin a popular player in the meme coin market after frequently tweeting about it.
While there is no such character called Kekius Maximus, it is based on the fusion of the popular 'Pepe the Frog' character with the character of Maximus from the movie 'Gladiator'. Maximus was a Roman general and his role was played by Russell Crowe in the 2000 movie.
