A Class 10 student of a private school in Ahmedabad was stabbed to death by his junior following an altercation, sparking massive protests and vandalism by parents and locals on Wednesday.

A preliminary police investigation revealed a chilling chat between the accused and his friend, in which the boy confessed to the crime. The conversation also showed what allegedly triggered him to attack his senior with a knife.

The chat, accessed by police, goes as follows:

Friend: Bhai, did you do something today?

Accused: Yes.

Friend: Did you stab someone?

Accused: Who told you?

Friend: Please call for a minute.

Accused: No, no. I am with my brother. He doesn’t know what happened today.

Friend: He (the victim) has died.

The accused then asked how his friend came to know about the incident. The friend explained that he had met a common acquaintance on the road who told him about it.

Friend: What actually happened?

Accused: Arrey, he (the victim) asked me, “Who are you and what will you do?” etc.

Friend: ***** You can’t stab someone to death for this. You could have just beaten him up, not killed him.

Accused: Whatever happened has happened now.

Friend: Take care of yourself. Go underground for some time. Delete these chats.

Accused: Ok.

The Class 10 student of the Seventh Day Adventist School was stabbed on Tuesday and later succumbed to his injuries during treatment at night.

On Wednesday morning, hundreds of people, including the victim’s family members, parents of other students, and members of the Sindhi community, stormed the school premises, demanding action against the administration.

The situation quickly descended into chaos, with the mob damaging school buses, cars, and two-wheelers parked at the institute, and assaulting staff, police said.

Police personnel initially struggled to control the crowd and eventually managed to push them out of the school premises.

The protesters then staged a sit-in on the road, blocking traffic and shouting slogans against the police while demanding accountability from the school administration.
