Tej Pratap Yadav has announced his candidacy for the Mahua constituency in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He will contest as the official candidate of the newly formed Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), a political party he founded following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) earlier this year.

On Monday, the JJD released its list of candidates for the upcoming elections, with Tej Pratap Yadav set to file his nomination from Mahua on October 16.

Speaking to the media earlier, Tej Pratap said the party planned to field candidates across Bihar. He also addressed speculation over who would become the next Chief Minister, saying, “Whoever will be Bihar’s CM will be decided by the people.”

On his own campaign, Tej Pratap added that he will consult with his spiritual guide from Vrindavan before officially submitting his nomination. Highlighting his focus on Mahua, he said, “We have already established a medical college here, now we aim to upgrade Mahua into a full-fledged district.”
