Macron India Visit, PM Modi Meeting, AI Summit: French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Mumbai on Monday night along with First Lady Brigitte Macron on a three-day official visit to India. The French President and the First Lady were received by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Mumbai airport.
Macron met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Lok Bhavan where he is likely to discuss artificial intelligence and strategic cooperation. A key focus is expected to be a renewed push for bilateral defence cooperation, including joint manufacturing of helicopters and HAMMER precision-guided missiles.
Notably, this visit marks Macron’s fourth visit to the country at the invitation of PM Modi, signaling sustained momentum in the India-France strategic partnership, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) cooperation and emerging technologies.
