New Delhi: In a powerful reply to the Motion of Thanks in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a no-holds-barred speech targeting opposition leaders, including Congress' Rahul Gandhi and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, while championing the BJP’s development efforts.

On Luxury vs. Public Welfare
Taking a direct swipe at Arvind Kejriwal over the infamous 'Sheesh Mahal' controversy, PM Modi remarked, "Some leaders are focused on jacuzzis and stylish showers in their homes, but we are focused on bringing water to every house."

Development Milestones for the Poor
Highlighting his government’s commitment to improving living conditions for the underprivileged, PM Modi said, “We’ve provided over 4 crore houses and built more than 12 crore toilets. Those who have never faced these hardships cannot understand the value of these basic necessities.”

Jibe at Rahul Gandhi
Without naming Gandhi directly, PM Modi criticized politicians for treating poverty as a PR opportunity. "Those who have photo sessions in huts for entertainment find discussions on poverty boring," he quipped.

On President Murmu’s Vision
Praising President Droupadi Murmu’s address, PM Modi called it a message of trust and inspiration for building a developed India over the next 25 years.

Attack on Corruption

“In the past, newspaper headlines were filled with scams and corruption. Over the last decade, we’ve saved crores of rupees and reinvested that money for national development — not for creating palatial homes," Modi asserted.

Urban Naxal Remarks
Addressing the rise of divisive narratives, PM Modi condemned the "urban naxal" ideology, stating, “Some people openly challenge the Indian state without understanding the Constitution or unity. We stand by the spirit of the Constitution and make strong decisions."

On Caste Politics

Taking aim at those who use caste divisions for political gain, Modi highlighted his government's move to grant constitutional status to the OBC Commission and promote inclusivity for SC, ST, and OBC communities.

With sharp attacks and a development-focused narrative, PM Modi’s address set a combative tone just a day before key polls, drawing clear battle lines between his government and the opposition.
